About Me.
Hello, I'm Dean.
I use he/him pronouns and am in my thirties.I am a multi-para RPer who likes to yap about his OCs, and who doesn't understand graphic design. I've been RPing on and off in FFXIV for a few years now, though I got my start on forums when I was a kid.Because I'm older, I prefer not to RP with minors. If we're in a shared server, I'm okay with casual conversation and that's about it. Also, I will not plot with anyone I don't find mature enough to sensitively and respectfully handle the themes I enjoy writing about.I do NOT enjoy IC surprises. I understand taking a defensive stance against metagaming, but I have no desire to plot with a character only to find out there is something in their backstory that is firmly on my "do not want to RP with" list. If you prefer to deliver IC surprises, it is best we do not do in-depth roleplay.
*Disclaimer: Many of my characters are brown, but I am not. If my character portrayals are in poor taste, please let me know. I do my best, but I am also subject to subconscious bias.My writing regarding in-game cultures mostly centers around diaspora culture, namely the disconnect between where one's family is from and where one grew up. Racism is not a central point in my writing precisely because most of my characters ended up dark skinned, and I do not experience colorism the same way darker skinned individuals do. I am not remotely qualified to write that angle, and I am not going to take a struggle I'm not affected by to add angst to my writing.Now, model minority mindset and class warfare, on the other hand...
Do Not Interact If:• You're ok with sexualizing kids or immortals/long lived races with kid bodies. I'm not talking about short, petite adult women, I'm talking like Fire Emblem manaketes who are proportioned like children and act like them. The former are not child-coded because they're adults existing in their natural bodies, but the latter is because someone chose to design them to look and act like children. The intent here is clear.• You're racist, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise bigoted. This includes being pro-law enforcement or military. (The last point may be fine if you live in a country that has law enforcement & military with morals.) One of my characters is a cop, yes, but his arc is about exploring how predatory military recruiting is, how fucked up that makes you and what to do after the fact.• You're overly invested in ship discourse.
I'm talking antis vs. proships. Everyone has an opinion and that's fine. It's mostly that while I think sides have really valid points, I also think y'all need to go outside and touch some grass or something.• You think death threats and doxxing are appropriate behavior or worse, justice. Extremely do not interact with me.• Your entire personality is being "problematic" or "a proud freak."
Not applicable to people reclaiming "freak" as part of kinky pride. Stay freaky B)I'm not a purist by any means, nor do I think everyone should live a lifestyle devoid of "problematic" things. But I've found that people who are too enthusiastic about dead dove tend to step across boundaries, so this is a precaution for my own comfort.

• High powered arcs and storylines
Absolutely Fucking Not:
(aka "I wish I didn't know characters like this existed")• Racist Characters. This includes characters who are pro-empire or neutral about it. I have no desire to RP with characters who are racist, even if they're trying to deprogram. It may be a good arc, but it's not to my taste.• Fetishistic characters. This includes characters who fetishize tribal cultures and other real life cultures in any way (I'm looking at you, orientalism!) as well as characters who fetishize transgender bodies. I will not argue this point- if I'm getting weird vibes from you, I'm not interacting.• Trauma/violence for shock value, edginess or angst for the sake of angst. This includes traffickers/slavers, abusers and characters who excessively hurt others. (I hate that I've seen enough of these to need a note.)• Imbalanced power dynamics. I have no interest in grooming your character, corrupting them or otherwise taking advantage of them. I have no interest in seeing any of this either. Do not ask me to do these things. (Note: A character who has been groomed as part of their backstory is fine, I just want no part in the process.)Thanks for reading! I really appreciate your time.
